Job description

Transform patient care and the community as a Nocturnist Physician in Fort Worth, Texas.

Our mission in Fort Worth is to provide "better" in every sense-better healthcare, better teamwork, and a lasting impact on the community we proudly serve. Ready to grow your career in a place that values community and collaboration? Let's talk.

We are hiring for a nocturnist position. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

We take pride in our well-established team at John Peter Smith of 37 physicians and five advanced practice providers (APPs), with the support of a clinical performance nurse and a practice manager.

Work alongside a diverse group of professionals with backgrounds from all over the world. We are an integral part of our hospital community and a valued strategic partner, maintaining great relationships with hospital leadership and other physician groups.

Our team actively participates in committees and leadership roles to support quality and process improvement.

Outside of work, we come together for social events to celebrate special occasions and share common interests like food and sports.

Qualifications:

Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.

We are open to 2026 graduates.

We proudly sponsor H1B visa candidates and provide in-house visa specialists, licensing, and credentialing support. All required filing fees for the visa are covered by Sound.

Scheduling:

This is a full-time nocturnist role.

Full-time positions follow a 7-nights-on, 7-nights-off rotation

We understand the importance of spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors. That's why we offer a flexible schedule that allows for work-life balance. Our team covers for each other when anyone is out, ensuring that you can enjoy time off without worry.

Key Responsibilities:

Focus on managing complex cases in a closed ICU environment with 24/7 intensivist coverage, without the expectation of performing procedures or running codes.

The average census per nocturnist is 10-11 admits per night. You will have an APP taking the cross coverage call at night.

EMR is EPIC.

Living and working in Dallas-Fort Worth:

Fort Worth was recently voted as one of the friendliest cities in America. The "City of Cowboys & Culture" is the 17th-largest city in the United States and part of the No. 1 tourist destination in Texas, welcoming 6.5 million visitors annually.

Fort Worth is comprised of seven primary entertainment districts, each offering distinct dining, shopping, entertainment, and cultural amenities. In only a few days, you can enjoy a range of experiences: from NASCAR racing to rodeos, world-class museums to cowboy cuisine, boutique shopping to a Top 5 zoo, and biking to horseback riding.

Enjoy an average of 245 days of sunshine and have access to dozens of city parks in and around Dallas/Fort Worth, more than 12 large lakes within driving distance, champion golf courses, and dozens of restaurants and shops. Also known for its arts scene, the city offers concert venues, off-Broadway shows, museums, and galleries.

Rewards and Compensation:

182.5 shifts a year

Nocturnist's yearly base compensation is $313, 900.

Eligible for both PPI and PQI bonuses.

Full benefits, including a CME allowance, are available.
