Prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment appropriately. Inspects all instruments and equipment for damages, malfunction, or unacceptable condition. Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by verifying correct items and quantities. Assures proper sterilization procedures are performed and the effectiveness of the sterilizing process. Maintains required records on sterilization and tracks equipment and instruments issued to nursing units. Assists with maintaining adequate supply levels and supply preparation for surgical cases. Maintains cleanliness and proper order in the work area. Demonstrates proficient use of all equipment and knowledge of stocking and par levels for nursing units. Shows dependability and flexibility in meeting the scheduling needs of the department. Assumes on-call assignments and takes responsibility for personal and professional development. Other duties as assigned.Education:Associate (Preferred)High School Grad or Equiv (Required)Technical/Vocational School (Preferred)Work Experience:Previous sterile processing technician experience (Preferred)Licenses and Certifications:Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Preferred)Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) (Preferred) OR Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) (Preferred)Physical Requirements: (Please click the link below to view work requirements) Physical Requirements - Range: $17.64 - $28.22This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
