Non-Certified Sterile Processing Technician - PRN WeekendsThe Non-Certified Sterile Processing Technician is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the cleaning, decontamination, and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment under close supervision. This position serves as a training and support role for individuals pursuing certification in sterile processing.Location: Charleston, South CarolinaEntity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA)Worker Type: EmployeeWorker Sub-Type: PRNCost Center: CC CHS - SPD (Sterile Processing) (ART)Pay Rate Type: HourlyPay Grade: Health-21Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Work Shift:Education and Work Experience:Graduate of high school or GED equivalency required.Previous experience in healthcare, environmental services, or related field preferred but not required.Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain attention to detail.Basic knowledge of infection prevention, aseptic techniques, or willingness to learn.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform job functions while standing. Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. Ability to maintain vision 20/40 corrected. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. Good peripheral vision capabilities. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function.
