Job description
Office CoordinatorCollects patient and insurance information and documents on form. Obtains insurance verification, insurance certification, and authorization with the number of visits allowed. Prepares patient records for therapists, keeping all information confidential. Enters patient confidential information into the designated computer system. Prepares confidential records and forms as per department policies and procedures. Deals discreetly with large amounts of sensitive, confidential information concerning hospital affairs. Obtains medical records and reports for therapists. Coordinates and prepares daily sign-in sheets and schedules, including verifying schedules. Assists with typing and word processing projects in the event of secretarial or staffing shortages. Manages and maintains inventory of office supplies. Assists with budget preparation. Assists with the sorting and distribution of mail and other documents. Collects appropriate cash, issues receipts, and reconciles cash. Creates systems for department files, including organizing patient chart files. Composes correspondence, memos, minutes, and reports of meetings. Oversees that all patients are called back within working day schedules for follow-ups and reconciles charge tickets. Coordinates the preparation of daily charge tickets, ensuring proper information is included. Assists with and oversees that the batching and coding for each voucher is done daily and delivers them to their designated area.
