Ellis Medicine is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Schenectady, New York.
This unique hospital-based opportunity is designed for a cardiologist who enjoys the clinical complexity and variety of inpatient cardiovascular medicine and values a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule.
The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient cardiology care at Ellis Hospital, including inpatient rounding and consultative cardiology services, while working alongside an established team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a comprehensive cardiovascular program while maintaining predictable periods of time away from the hospital for family, travel, personal interests, or other professional pursuits.

7-on/7-off schedule
12-hour shifts
Inpatient rounding and consultative cardiology services
Comprehensive non-invasive cardiovascular care
Collaborate with interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, structural heart, cardiothoracic surgery, advanced practice providers, and other specialists
Access to advanced cardiovascular diagnostic and procedural services
Established referral network throughout the Capital Region
Predictable schedule with extended blocks of time off

Clinical Responsibilities
The Non-Invasive Cardiologist will provide comprehensive inpatient cardiovascular care at Ellis Hospital, including: Provide inpatient cardiology consultation and management for patients with cardiovascular conditions
Perform daily inpatient rounding and develop individualized treatment plans
Evaluate and manage patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and other cardiovascular conditions
Provide cardiology consultation to patients admitted through the Emergency Department and other inpatient services
Interpret and utilize ECGs, telemetry, echocardiography, stress testing, laboratory data, and other diagnostic studies to guide patient management
Provide pre-procedural and peri-procedural cardiovascular evaluation and risk assessment
Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
Coordinate care with hospitalists, primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and other consulting services
Communicate recommendations and treatment plans with patients, families, and referring physicians
Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care
Provide appropriate follow-up recommendations for patients transitioning to outpatient care
Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State
Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered cardiovascular care
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Inpatient cardiology experience preferred
Recruitment Package
Ellis Medicine offers a competitive recruitment package designed to support your professional and personal transition to our organization, including: Year 1: $600,000- $625,000 guaranteed base salary
Year 2: $625,000- $650,000 guaranteed base salary
Year 3: $650,000- $675,000 guaranteed base salary
$75k starting bonus
$25k retention bonus
