nIn this role, the NP will have clinical practice experience to assess patients of various age groups and have the ability to diagnose, create treatment plans and prescribe medications as related to the treatment plan. The extender develops plans in collaboration with a physician to achieve the best health outcomes for the patient in their primary care team.

nPrimary Responsibilities:

nnnRapidly formulate a differential diagnosis from assessments conducted within the clinic setting

nnInterpretation of tests

n

nnCounseling liaison to women's support group programs

n

nnWill conduct breast exams, gynecological disease and treatments, including prenatal care; colposcopy; placement of IUD's and general OB/GYN office procedures

n

nnDevelop and implement treatment plans for patients assigned within the primary care team

n

nnProvide guidance to nursing personnel towards treatment plans and care issue

n

nnDocuments treatment plans in the medical record

n

nnDocuments collaborative guidance from the physician as needed

n

nnCoordination of care for patient

nRequired Qualifications:

nnn1+ year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in an OB/GYN or Women's Health clinic setting

n

nnNational Nurse Practitioner certification in Women's Health, Adult or Family or Certified Midwifery or Physician Assistant certificationnn

nnUnrestricted, active licensure in the State where this position is based, or ability to obtain

n

nnCurrent DEA or ability to obtain

n

n nPreferred Qualifications:

nnnAbility to communicate with patients, primary care team members and management staff

n

nnAbility to make care decisions based on the best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physician

n

nnIntermediate level of technical proficiency in the use of computer programs for medical records or internet search for clinical practice

n

nnAbility to formulate a differential diagnosis

n

nnProficient in assessment and development of treatment plans

n

nnAbility to conceptualize the needs for the team or department and actualize plans for implementation

n

nnEmpowered to develop plans of action and gain team consensus towards common goals

n

nnA background in managed care

n

nnFamiliarity with ICD-9 coding

n

n nThe salary range for this role is $104,500 to $156,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
