NPHire lists this NP / PA – Geriatric SNF | Launch a Pain Program | New Grads Welcome opportunity in cincinnati, Ohio. Review the employer’s description below for duties, qualifications and application requirements.
Job description
A pain management practice opening its first Ohio market is hiring NPs and PAs to provide geriatric pain and palliative care across Cincinnati skilled nursing facilities. You'll be one of the first providers here, helping set how the practice runs in Ohio while caring for the same residents week after week. It's dedicated pain care for a population that rarely gets it. The practice wants providers who have done this before, with backgrounds in pain management, ortho, physiatry, SNF rounding, or hospice. New graduates are considered with RN experience in ortho, pain management, SNF, or high-volume ER. Malpractice with tail coverage is included, and more positions open as the practice adds facilities.
You're paid for every visit you complete: $10 each, with at least $150 guaranteed at every facility you work at in a day. Visits are short, focused pain follow-ups of about 10 minutes, not full workups. At a typical 40 to 50 patients a day, that's roughly $400 to $500. Days spread across smaller facilities can pay more, since the minimum applies at each one.
Key Responsibilities
See 40 to 50 residents per day in focused pain management follow-ups
Create individualized plans that combine medication, non-pharmacological care, and interventional referrals
Prescribe and monitor pain medications under Ohio state and federal regulations
Refer patients to physical therapy, acupuncture, spinal blocks, and other interventions as needed
Guide patients and families on pain control and lifestyle factors
Follow up consistently and adjust plans based on outcomes
Keep documentation current in TEBRA and PointClickCare
Build trusted working relationships with each facility's staff and leadership
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Ohio NP or PA license, or eligible to obtain
AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC, FNP-BC, or PA-C certification
Active DEA registration, or able to obtain one before start
Comfortable with a pace of 40 to 50 focused visits per day
Comfortable prescribing independently, including controlled substances
Fully onsite; comfortable traveling between Cincinnati area facilities
Preferred: experience in pain management, ortho, physiatry, SNF rounding, or hospice with controlled-substance prescribing
New grads considered with RN experience in ortho, pain management, SNF, or high-volume ER (county or trauma ER a strong plus)
TEBRA or PointClickCare familiarity a plus
Schedule & Compensation
