NPI Engineer | St. Johns, MI
Salary Range:
$75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Drive the successful transfer of new products from design to manufacturing.
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and testability.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes, including tooling, fixtures, and assembly instructions.
Conduct process validation activities (e.g., IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues during pilot production and initial ramp-up phases.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes and product design.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to interpret and create technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including PCBA assembly, test, and final product integration.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, SolidWorks) for design review and analysis.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving manufacturing issues during product ramp-up.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for managing engineering data.
Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Production teams.
Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python) for data analysis or automation.
