This role focuses on first articles and pilot production runs, ensuring process verification, quality improvements, and efficient manufacturing practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to problem-solving initiatives, support team development, and help maintain a strong safety culture.Key Responsibilities:Set up CNC machines and related equipment for new product developmentWork from technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and CNC programsPerform first article setup, inspection, and validationUtilize precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators)Operate CNC and manual machines as neededTroubleshoot machining and quality issues in collaboration with programmers and quality teamsDevelop and document setup procedures and work instructionsInstall and adjust cutting tools and workholding devicesMonitor production to maintain accuracy and quality standardsRun multiple machines concurrentlyEnsure parts meet specifications before moving to the next processMaintain a clean and safe work environmentTrain team members and provide feedback to leadershipReport unsafe conditions or equipment issuesSupport continuous improvement and teamwork initiativesQualifications:Minimum 3 years of CNC setup experienceMinimum 5 years of manufacturing experienceRequired experience with 4th axis machiningExperience with prototyping and first-piece development preferredFamiliarity with HAAS controls is a plusStrong understanding of GD&T and blueprint readingProficiency with precision measurement toolsPhysical Requirements:Continuous attention to detail and visual focusFrequent standing; occasional walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawlingRegular lifting up to 10 lbs, frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a physically demanding environmentWork Environment:Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemicalsHigh-noise manufacturing environmentRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoesSymbiotic Services is committed to connecting skilled professionals with leading manufacturing opportunities.
