We are seeking a hands‑on, detail-oriented New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Engineer to join our Project Development and Solutions team in Tustin, CA. In this high-visibility role, you will lead NPI activities for industrial computer systems, bridging the gap between design engineering and mass production. This position requires strong project coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the product development and launch process.

Responsibilities:

Drive technical support and cross-functional collaboration for new product introduction (NPI), working with customers, sales, engineering (EE/ME), and manufacturing teams to transition embedded PC, Edge AI, and intelligent computing solutions into production.

Analyze customer requirements and translate them into production-ready solutions; coordinate system integration and validation, perform system-level testing, and support successful deployment of embedded PC, Edge AI, and intelligent computing products.

Build, assemble, and validate prototype industrial computer and server rack systems, including hands‑on modification of parts and components as needed.

Identify issues early, evaluate potential solutions, and implement appropriate corrective actions within established timelines.

Develop clear, accurate, and production-ready Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assembly instructions, test processes, and packaging solutions.

Manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and cross-functional communication to support successful product launches.

Support product certification activities, including UL, FCC, CE, and other applicable certifications, and contribute to documentation required for compliance.

Work within established ISO 9001 processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate documentation related to builds, processes, testing, and engineering changes.

Ability to occasionally lift and carry equipment and periodically sit, stand, or walk for extended periods while performing job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability and willingness to travel periodically for customer visits, trade shows, training, manufacturing support, and other business needs.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering — Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field.

5+ years of hands‑on experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or hardware product development.

Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and cross‑functional activities.

Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet established deadlines.

Ability to communicate technical issues, options, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.

Hands‑on mechanical and electrical skills, including the ability to use common hand tools and perform hardware modifications and troubleshooting.

Experience building prototypes, assembling hardware systems, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear, accurate, and structured build instructions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical issues and develop practical solutions.

Knowledge of current computer hardware technologies and industry trends.
