This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As a Nuclear Engineering Co-Op, you will be responsible for:

Using radiation sourcestocollect data from detector systems for the purpose of testingdetector,collimator, or shieldingtechnologies

Developingcode to process and analyze that data to answer specific technical questions

Developing mechanical or electrical test fixturesand/or sub-assembliestoenable the testing of detector or collimator technologies

Developingalgorithms or analysis methods to aid in the technical investigationof detector or collimator technologies

Presentingyourdevelopment activities, in-process work items,resultsand discussionin aprofessional manner toengineering staff and management

Radiation Transport theory

Radiation shielding methods

Medical imaging

Medical physics

Detector correctionsand calibrationsincludinguniformity,linearityand energy correction

Required skills and education to have for the success of this role:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Engineering, Physics, or Medical Physics (rising junior or senior preferred)

Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred)

Registered and eligible to participate in a co-op through your university
