Nurse AidThe nurse aid works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and protocols.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Canton Potsdam HospitalDEPARTMENT: West 2SCHEDULE: Day/EveningRESPONSIBILITIES:Performs and documents direct comprehensive, family and patient centered care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff.Provides world class customer service to patients and families.Reports patient conditions directly to licensed nursing staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.Maintains a safe and clean patient and family centered environment.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or equivalent.Current BLSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Evidence of successful completion of a nurse aide training course at hire and previous experience as a nurse aide.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.PAY RANGE: $18.64 - $26.43The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
