Health AideThe Health Aide supports the school nurse and Health Services Department through caring for students under the direction of the school nurse and providing clerical support in school Health Rooms.Nine and one-fourth (9.25) month (184 days) contract, Table 803 Grade, plus benefits package. Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon experience. FLSA: Non-Exempt.QualificationsHigh school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.Computer technology skills are required.Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records.Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.Reinforces instructional activities with students as prescribed.Assists in the preparation of lesson plans and instructional materials.Assumes responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed.Learns the curriculum content of the classes in which he/she assists.Assists individual children in need of special attention.Implements behavior management techniques.Assists in data collection.Assists the teacher with maintenance of the classroomAssist with duties such as lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.Participates in-services, staffing, faculty meetings, etc.Completes daily work schedules as assigned.Performs all other duties as assigned.Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
