Following this initial phase, you will become eligible to participate in a comprehensive training program designed to prepare you for the state certification exam. The program includes five weeks of paid clinical and classroom instruction conducted during the daylight shift (6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.), Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, trainees will report to their assigned home site, with hours varying as needed. Upon successful completion of the program, you will transition into either a full-time or part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) position. Please note that attendance throughout the training program is mandatory.St. John Community allows older adults to move through a continuum of care from residential living to skilled nursing, depending on the need. Once the classroom training is completed, the NA Trainee provides assistance to professional nursing staff in the care of residents/patients through performance of routine direct and indirect resident/patient care activities, according to established policies and procedures. Maintains resident/patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality. Promotes resident/patient acceptance of treatment goals and responds promptly to overall resident/patient needs.
