nLocation:Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, 2333 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192
nSchedule:Part-Time (24 Hours/Week) – Every other weekend and holiday rotation
nShift:Midnights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM – 2x12 Hour Shifts/Week

As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assist with essential patient care tasks and actively contribute to a positive patient experience.
nAbout Our Unit:
nOur 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients through many different phases of their healthcare journey. You’ll work alongside a skilled and compassionate team supporting patients with a wide range of needs — from post-surgical recovery to treatment for acute infectious diseases requiring IV antibiotics, to management of chronic conditions during flare-ups. We also provide dignified, compassionate care for patients and families during end-of-life support.
nWhat You’ll Do:
nYour day-to-day impact includes:
nnnPerforming routine tasks such as measuring and recording vital signs, collecting and labeling specimens including blood draws, and performing venipuncture and chemsticks.
n
nnAssisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by the RN.
n
nnProviding compassionate, hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and comfort.
n
nnCommunicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support seamless care delivery.
n
nnMaintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
n
n nEducation/Experience Required:
nTo qualify, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
nnnCompletion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles may vary: Patient Care Technician (PCT), Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)).
n
nnEnrollment in a nursing program with completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
n
nnForeign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license
n
nnMedical Assistant program (with or without experience).
n
nnAt least one (1) year of experience in a Nurse Assistant, Patient Care Tech, or Patient Assistant Tech, or similar job role.
n
nnCertified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred
n
n nCertifications/Licensures Required:
nnComplete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
n nPhysical Demands/Working Conditions:
nnnPhysical ability to lift and move patients, supplies, and equipment.
n
nnProlonged standing, walking, and lifting of patients, supplies, and equipment.
n
nnWorks in patient care area environments, which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, and hazardous gases.
