Job description
Nurse - BSN Instructor - Med Surg-Per Diem
We are looking for a BSN Nursing Instructor to join our team in conjunction with our Workforce Development Partner, Community Health Systems in Fresno. The BSN Nursing Instructor will provide Clinical and skills lab site education to students enrolled at the assigned Workforce Development Program. Hours vary based on clinical rotation and/or skills lab course.
Responsibilities include providing education in the skills lab and/or clinical setting, utilizing principles of teaching that recognize the characteristics of the adult learner, planning and supervising student clinical experience, evaluating student performance, making continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction, demonstrating or acquiring skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content, keeping current with innovative technologies and safety regulations, participating in committee activities, attending faculty meetings, and providing access to students for ongoing communication.
Pay Range: $55-$70/hr DOE
Qualifications include holding a valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing, eligibility for approval by CA BRN as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics, a Master's degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education, or administration, minimum four-years' experience, with one year in the last five years, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care, one-year experience teaching courses related to nursing or completion of a course which includes practice in teaching nursing preferred, and expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, and/or Critical Care.
