nKoniag Professional Services (KPS), a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support KPS and our government customer in support of the Albany Military Entrance Processing Station. This position is for a future business opportunity.

nWork Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of 06:00 to 17:00 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise. Primary location of performance is: 11 A Clinton Avenue Albany NY, 12207

nEssential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

nnnPerform a review of the military service applicant medical histories, perform medical evaluations, and conduct reviews of medical test results and documents, with an end goal of determining whether an applicant for military service meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed facilities

nnReview of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories.

n

nnSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings

n

nnArrange (but not performing) Medical consultations to include but not limited to orthopedics, psychiatry, ears, nose and throat specialty, dermatology, internal medicine, and dental.

n

nnAccomplish the specified quantity and quality of work within the schedule and hours allotted herein.

n

nnPerform records review/consult reviews and results reviews.

n

nnAbide by DoD, USMEPCOM, and other applicable instructions, regulations, and policies.

n

nnApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.

n

nnBecome proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.

n

nnProvide highest regard to applicant dignity.

n

nnSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings

nnArrange (but not performing) Medical consultations to include but not limited to orthopedics, psychiatry, ears, nose and throat specialty, dermatology, internal medicine, and dental.

n nMinimum Requirements/Knowledge/Skills:

nnnPossess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation, access, and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues.

n

nnAbility to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers.

n

nnAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgment and demonstrating sound decision-making skills.

n

nnPossess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity.

n

nnAbility to complete MHS Genesis training requirements for medical documentation.

n

nnExperience in collecting, organizing, recording, and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires

n

nnKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and healthcare fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine, and mental health.

n

nnSuperior ability to write routine reports and correspondence

n

nnExcellent communication, customer service and organizational skills

n

n nMinimum Education Requirements/Certification/Licensure/Experience:

nnnGraduate of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited school of nursing (National League of Nursing)

n

nnMaster's or Doctoral Degree from a program accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certificate Program (ANPCP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

n

nnPossess current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands

n

nnMinimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in direct patient care within the last three (3) years.

n

nnPossess and maintain a current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS) Training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross training for Healthcare Providers. This training must include a “hands-on” portion and be recertified every two years.

n nRequirements:

nnYou must have the ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Public Trust
