Nurse PractitionerSpecialty: Bariatric Medicine & Weight ManagementLocation: Munster, INEducation/Experience Requirements:Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; Masters of Nursing degree requiredMinimum of 3 years nursing experience required; 5 years preferredLicensed Registered Nurse in the State of IndianaPrescriptive authority privileges in State of IndianaBoard Certification is required to be granted necessary hospital privileges for employmentCPR certification requiredConveys positive attitude and image internally throughout Community Healthcare System and externally within the communityExcellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to analyze and creatively solve patient care issues in a proactive and positive manner; ability to apply and modify principles, methods, and techniques to provide ongoing patient careRequires self-direction, leadership, delegation, organization, and teaching abilityCommunicates tactfully and effectively with physicians, patients, families, nursing staff, other hospital/clinic departments, and the publicDemonstrates a professional, positive, flexible and open minded manner with a willingness and desire to go the extra mileKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practice and medical care to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program.Skills in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency work situations; able to prioritize patients according to their clinical needs; strong time management skills to balance both patient care and chart completionThorough knowledge of pharmacologic agents used in patient treatmentsStrong decision making and practice skills
