nUnityPoint Health - Sioux City provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Sioux City and the surrounding Siouxland area. St. Luke’s offers a full range of services and programs that includes a state-of-the-art surgical center, Siouxland’s premier birth center, 24/7 cardiovascular care, and Level III emergency department. In addition, UnityPoint Health - Sioux City is also home to St. Luke’s College which provides high-quality, health system-based education to individuals looking for careers in health care.

nResponsibilities

nnnAnnual visit volume = 40,000

n

nnAverage # of patients per day = 89

n

nnAverage 1.5-1.9 patients per hour

n

nn40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day

n

nnShift duration = 9 hours during weekday & 12 hours on weekends with good shift balance

n

nnWork on an as needed basis

n

nnMajority night and weekend openings

n

nnMinimum 3 shifts/month

n

nnLevel 3 Trauma Center

n

nn32 bed ED

n

nnAPP’s manage a 12-bed clinical decision unit

n

nnIntegral part of the ED team

n

nnAbility to see broad range of patient complaints and practice to top of your license

n

nnNo call, good work/life balance

n

nnAbility to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

n

nnEvaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care

n

nnPatient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

nnExcellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

n nQualifications

nnnNurse Practitioner or Physician Associate

n

nnBoard Certified

n

nnMinimum of 2 years of experience

n

nnHold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa

n

nnHold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice

n

nnEligible to work in the United States
