nJob Summary
nWe are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team of 3 Cardiologists and 2 NP in the group! As a NP or PA, you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making tentative diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication with a physician's approval. Outpatient and in-hospital setting is the main stem of the practice. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Position also will have direct contact with research projects, and experience with research is a plus.
nResponsibilities
nExamine each patient, take a detailed medical history, and chart everything medically important in their records
nRead test results, interpret data appropriately, and make diagnostic suggestions based on those results
nExplain to the patient test results and expected health outcomes
nPrescribe medication or therapy with a physician overseeing as part of a larger health plan
nWork closely with the staff, medical assistants, and Physicians to formulate a full, comprehensive treatment plan
nCardiology exclusively, no primary care involved.
nResearch and Clinical trials involvement is a important part of this position.
nQualifications
nValid state licensing required
nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
nExperience with medical terminology, charting, and diagnostic tests
nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
