Job description
Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology

Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 16:00)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years recent experience required
License: Current state license required
Certifications: AHA BLS required

Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Skills to provide comprehensive patient care
Description:Evaluate medical problems of patients in the assigned Gastroenterology/Internal Medicine practice setting.Request consultation of other specialties when indicated.Provide education to patients and/or families about preventive care and medical issues.Discuss the use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications pertinent to the patient’s condition.Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.Maintain documentation compliance for appropriate coding and billing.Facilitate evaluation of records by physicians, peers, and quality standards.Receive and implement constructive directives.Refer complex and high-priority cases to collaborating physicians for complicated diagnostic problems.Provide medical and emergency interventions appropriate to the client’s needs.Prescribe and monitor medications relevant to the diagnosis.Order and monitor the appropriateness of emergency interventions.This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Candidates should be passionate about gastroenterology and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
