nSUMMARY OF POSITION:
nThe Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift. Current BLS and ACLS Required.
nMINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
nnnMaster's degree in Nursing
n
nnCurrently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
n
nnBasic Life Support (BLS)
n
n nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
nnnCritical thinking
n
nnExcellent communication skills
n
nnAbility to complete comprehensive physical exam, diagnose and formulate a medical management plan
n
nnAbility to collaborate with attending physician
n
n nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
nnnHospitalist or acute care setting preferred
n
nn2 years experience preferred
n
