nThe Division of Internal Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient, academic clinic. This role focuses on delivering high-quality primary care to an established patient population while working closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of an interdisciplinary care team.
nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner who values collaborative practice, continuity of care, and involvement in education and quality improvement initiatives.
nPosition OverviewThe Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient Internal Medicine setting. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork within an academic environment.
nKey Responsibilities
nnnProvide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions
n
nnConduct patient visits, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications in accordance with scope of practice
n
nnManage preventive care, health maintenance, and patient education
n
nnCollaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinators
n
nnParticipate in interdisciplinary collaboration, including quality improvement initiatives with the pharmacy team
n
nnDocument care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
n
nnContribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
n
nnParticipate in academic activities, including the potential to precept Nurse Practitioner students
n
n nQualifications
nnnMaster’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
n
nnLicense and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State
n
nnPrior experience in primary care or Internal Medicine strongly preferred
n
nnStrong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
n
nnInterest in academic practice, teaching, and collaborative care models
n
