nProvides advanced practice health care services as well as documentation of services, collaborates with colleagues and clinical director, supervises assigned support staff, participates in quality assurance activities, and demonstrates a commitment to quality health care.
nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnCompletion of a graduate level (or higher) nurse practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

nnNo experience required

n nLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
nRequired:
nnnCertification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
n
nnLicensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON)
n
nnLicensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of specialization by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON)
n
n nCurrent RN's who have not yet completed their nurse practitioner program or recent graduates who have not yet obtained their ANCC/AANP certification or APRN nurse practitioner license are eligible to apply for this position. However, official employment is contingent upon the successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program, ANCC/AANP certification and APRN nurse practitioner licensure.
nJob Duties:
nnnSupports the Division's Faculty Physicians by seeing patients independently in a clinic setting; following up on labs and diagnostic studies, and returns patient phone calls

nnAttends patient care meetings
n
nnOrders and coordinates workup of patients for procedures
n
nnFollows up with patients after discharge
n
nnExecutes physician's orders in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards
n
nnExecutes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures the physician may assign
n
nnAdhere to the internal controls established for the department
n
