nSUMMARY OF POSITION:
nThe Department of Neurosurgery is seeking motivated Advanced Practice Providers to join our growing, collaborative team. Opportunities are available across several areas of neurosurgery, offering candidates broad clinical exposure and the chance to develop specialized expertise within a dynamic academic environment.
nBoth experienced APPs and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Neurosurgical experience is not required; our collaborative team provides comprehensive training, mentorship, and ongoing support to prepare each APP for success.
nThe APP will work closely with neurosurgeons, residents, fellows, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative care.

nPrimary Responsibilities
nnnProvide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative care to patients with neurosurgical conditions
n
nnConduct patient evaluations, develop care plans, and manage preoperative and postoperative follow-up in collaboration with the clinical team.
n
nnPerform inpatient rounds and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation
n
nnEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
n
nnAssist with clinical interventions as appropriate to training, credentialing, and assigned specialty.
n
nnCoordinate care across multidisciplinary teams to support continuity and timely access to services.
n
nnParticipate in quality improvement, program development, education, and other departmental initiatives.
n
nnSupport the department’s clinical, academic, and educational missions.
n
n nAcademic and Professional Activities
nnnParticipate in teaching of residents, fellows, and students
n
nnContribute to clinical research, database management, or outcomes tracking, depending on interest and program needs
n
nnSupport departmental educational and academic missions
n
n nMinimum Qualifications
nnnMasters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
n
nnTwo years work experience as a RN required.
n
nnCurrent licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
n
nnMust have demonstrated effective skills in consultation.
n
nnCertification as an NP in the area of practice specialization is preferred.
n
n nPreferred
nnnPrior experience in neurosurgery, neurology, or a surgical subspecialty
n
nnInterest in functional neurosurgery, movement disorders, spinal disorders, or epilepsy
n
nnExperience in inpatient and outpatient surgical care environments
