Roles and Responsibilities

Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering tests, and developing customized care plans

Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses in partnership with doctors or independently (subject to your credentials)

Educating patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and disease management strategies

Prescribing necessary medications and therapeutic interventions within your scope

Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic disease management

Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care

Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in EMR systems

Educational Background

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

Active Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina

National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
