What You'll Be Engaging In
Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and crafting tailored care plans
Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions either autonomously or in collaboration with physicians
Instructing patients and their families on preventive measures, wellness strategies, and effective disease management
Prescribing appropriate medications and treatment modalities within your practice guidelines
Contributing to patient follow-up initiatives and chronic condition management
Working within interdisciplinary teams to provide cohesive, holistic patient care
Maintaining precise and comprehensive documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Credentials Required
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or readiness to acquire these within 90 days)
