What You'll Be Doing
Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, and forming individualized care plans
Diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians or independently (based on credentialing)
Educating patients and families on prevention, wellness, and disease management
Prescribing medications and therapies within the scope of practice
Participating in patient follow-up and chronic care management
Collaborating across interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, holistic care
Documenting thoroughly and accurately within electronic medical records (EMR)
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Required Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Texas
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
