Your Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, order necessary diagnostic tests, and build individualized care plans
Diagnose and administer treatments for acute, acute episodes, or chronic illnesses independently or in collaboration with physicians depending on your credentials
Instruct patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
Prescribe medications and therapies as authorized by your scope of practice
Engage actively in patient follow-up and chronic care management
Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to provide thorough, holistic care
Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Background
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Certifications Required
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure them within 90 days)
