Your Role in the Community
Performing thorough patient evaluations, initiating diagnostic procedures, and creating customized care strategies
Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in conjunction with physicians or autonomously (per your credentialing)
Guiding patients and their families on wellness, prevention, and chronic disease management
Prescribing necessary medications and therapies within your practice parameters
Involving yourself in follow-up care and chronic disease management strategies
Teaming up across various disciplines to ensure holistic patient care
Maintaining precise and complete documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
Your Educational Background
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (or the capability to secure these within 90 days)
