What You'll Be Doing
Conducting in-depth patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and developing personalized care approaches
Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses in association with doctors or independently, depending on credentials
Providing education to patients and families regarding prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
Prescribing medications and therapies within your practice parameters
Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care coordination
Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to guarantee cohesive, comprehensive care
Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Required Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Texas
National accreditation as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or the ability to obtain within 90 days
