Your Daily Endeavors
Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, and creating individualized care strategies
Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses—with the option to collaborate with physicians or work independently based on your credentials
Educating patients and their families on preventative strategies, wellness, and optimal disease management
Prescribing therapies and medications within the appropriate scope
Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care management efforts
Working within interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and holistic care experiences
Accurate and thorough documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Qualifications
A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
A degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Mandatory Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or other equivalent specialties
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to attain within 90 days)
