Key Responsibilities
Performing thorough patient evaluations, arranging diagnostic examinations, and developing personalized care plans
Identifying and treating acute, episodic, or chronic health issues, working collaboratively with physicians or exercising independent judgment based on credentials
Providing education to patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with your scope of practice
Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic care
Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive, comprehensive care
Accurately documenting patient data within electronic medical records (EMR)
Educational Background
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner program
Essential Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Virginia
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or similar credential
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to attain within 90 days)
