Your Role and Responsibilities

Conducting thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and creating personalized care plans

Independently diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic conditions while collaborating with physicians as needed

Educating patients and families about disease prevention, wellness strategies, and chronic disease management

Prescribing medications and therapies according to your scope of practice

Engaging in patient follow-up care and chronic disease management

Coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care

Documenting all patient interactions clearly and accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)

Your Educational Background

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications You Need

Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in California

National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or attained an equivalent specialty

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the capability to secure these within 90 days)

Distinguishing Skills

Strong clinical judgment coupled with an empathetic bedside presence

Exceptional communication skills for engaging effectively with patients, families, and team members

Flexibility in high-pressure, patient-oriented settings

Familiarity with EMR systems and ease with telehealth technologies

A spirit of collaboration and dedication to evidence-based practices
