Your Role and Responsibilities
Performing in-depth patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and developing tailored care plans
Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health issues alone or in partnership with physicians (as governed by your credentials)
Educating patients and their families about wellness, disease prevention, and management strategies
Prescribing medications and treatments within your professional scope
Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic disease management
Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to assure integrated care
Maintaining detailed and accurate records within electronic medical systems (EMR)
Educational Background
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license in California
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or ability to secure within 90 days
