n nResponsibilities
nThe Department of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Division of Cardiac Subspecialty Clinics within the Comprehensive Cardiology Service line. The Advanced Practice Provider will work closely with a multidisciplinary team managing a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including but not limited to coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and valvular disease. In alignment with Mayo Clinic's mission and the three shields of medicine-clinical practice, research, and education-this position offers an opportunity to advance patient care and contribute to academic and programmatic growth within the department.
nThe Nurse Practitioner performs the following tasks in any authorized setting (clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, or patient's home).
n-Obtaining patient history
n-Performing physical examinations
n-Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
n-Formulating a diagnostic impression
n-Developing and implementing a treatment plan
n-Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
n-Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
n-Making appropriate referrals
n-Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication
n-Assisting in surgery
n-Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures
n-Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.

nQualifications
nNew Graduates who have prior experience in Cardiology will be considered at this time.
nNurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
nPhysician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
nAdditional Qualifications:
nActive BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
