Job description

Job Description Job Description Tired of rushed visits, huge caseloads, and medicine that feels more corporate than personal? Come practice senior care differently with Doctor Jeannie Senior Care where you can practice medicine in a way that actually feels meaningful.

At Doctor Jeannie Senior Care, we are on a mission to change how seniors experience healthcare in assisted living and independent senior living communities. Too often, older adults get rushed, overlooked, overmedicated, or lost in the shuffle. We believe they deserve better.

We are a small, purpose-driven medical practice led by a board-certified geriatrician, and we are looking for an NP or PA who is smart, compassionate, reliable, and genuinely enjoys caring for seniors.

This is not a high-volume, "hurry up and see as many patients as possible" position. We believe smaller caseloads lead to better care. Our providers have more time to get to know patients, communicate with families and facility staff, review medications thoughtfully, and create medical plans that actually make sense for each person.

If you are looking for a flexible, field-based role where you can build real relationships, use your clinical judgment, and be part of a supportive team, this may be a wonderful fit.

What Makes Us Different

At Doctor Jeannie Senior Care, we believe less can be better.

Our model is built around:

Smaller caseloads so providers can give more individualized attention

No pressure to see 20-30 patients a day

More time to understand the whole person, not just hit check boxes

A strong focus on reducing unnecessary medications when appropriate

Better communication with families, facility staff, pharmacies, labs, home health, hospice, and other providers

A small but highly supportive team that helps you every step of the way

24/7 availability for urgent needs, so you are not left unsupported

We want our providers to feel like they are part of a team, not out there alone.

What You'll Be Doing

You will provide on-site medical care to residents in Assisted Living Facilities and Independent Senior Living Apartments across Middle Tennessee.

Responsibilities may include:

Seeing patients for routine and acute visits (admission visits with a comprehensive care plan are done by our geriatrician)

Managing chronic medical conditions

Reviewing and simplifying medications when clinically appropriate

Communicating with families and facility staff

Coordinating with pharmacies, labs, home health, hospice, and specialists

Helping create thoughtful geriatric medical plans based on each patient's goals and needs

Documenting visits in the medical record

Locations may include:

Hendersonville

Nashville

Brentwood

Green Hills

Franklin

Bellevue

Antioch

Other Middle Tennessee locations as opportunities arise

Part-time or full-time options may be available.

Compensation & Perks

$35-$50 per completed follow-up visit , depending on experience and role

Paid twice monthly

Optional phone call coverage: $500 per pay period / $1,000 per month

$1 per minute for non-visit work on non-visit days (often an additional $500 - $1000/month)

Malpractice insurance available if needed

Flexible schedule

Part-time and Full-time opportunities

Field-based work with autonomy

Geriatric training and physician support

Small, responsive, supportive team

What You'll Need

Active Tennessee NP or PA license

Active DEA license (if you are a new graduate and need a supervising physician first, we can work on that)

Laptop and smartphone

Reliable transportation

Strong communication skills

Good follow-through and documentation habits

A heart for older adults

Experience in long-term care, assisted living, geriatrics, primary care, hospice, or palliative care is a plus, but it is not required. If you love seniors and are willing to learn, we will support you with training and geriatric expertise.

The Ideal Candidate

You may be a great fit if you are:

Kind, dependable, and clinically thoughtful

Comfortable working independently while staying connected to a team

Good at communicating with families and facility staff

Interested in whole-person care, not just quick visits

Passionate about helping older adults live with dignity, safety, and comfort

Open to learning from a board-certified geriatrician

Someone who wants to make a real difference, not just check boxes

Position Type

This is a 1099 independent contractor position , so traditional benefits are not included.

What we do offer is autonomy, flexibility, purpose, support, and the opportunity to practice senior care in a way that feels personal, thoughtful, and deeply needed.

Company Description Doctor Jeannie Senior Care is a small but mighty geriatric medical practice serving seniors in assisted living and independent living communities across Middle Tennessee. Led by a board-certified geriatrician, we are building a better model of senior care-one that values relationships, communication, thoughtful medication management, and truly knowing each patient as a whole person.

Unlike high-volume healthcare models, we believe smaller caseloads create better outcomes. Our providers are not pushed to rush through visit quotas. Instead, they have time to listen, think, communicate with families and facility staff, and provide the kind of individualized care older adults deserve.

We are a growing, purpose-driven team looking for smart, compassionate, flexible team players who want to help us change the way senior care is delivered. Because we are small, every team member matters. We support each other, adapt as we grow, and work together to make healthcare feel more personal, responsive, and human.
