Job description
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant providing comprehensive cardiology care in a 50/50 inpatient/outpatient setting at Henry Ford Health Jackson. This full-time position welcomes new graduates and offers mentorship from experienced cardiologists.
Outpatient Responsibilities
Conduct pre-operative cardiac clearances for surgical patients
Manage hospital follow-up appointments and post-discharge care coordination
Perform same-day heart appointments (patient flow triaged by RNs)
Provide general follow-up care for established patients under cardiologist supervision
Maintain continuity of care and patient education
Inpatient Responsibilities
Round with cardiologists on hospitalized patients
Conduct follow-up consultations to ensure adherence to established care plans
Collaborate with the cardiology team on clinical decision-making and patient management
Schedule & Logistics
Full-time position: 40 hours per week, day shift
Weekend coverage: Approximately 1 in 4 weekends
No on-call requirements
Travel between two locations (5 miles apart) 1-2 times monthly on the same day
Locations: HF Jackson Hospital, HF Cardiology Jackson, HF Cardiovascular Medicine - Hillsdale, and HF Cardiology Jonesville

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant (MSPAS/MPA)
Current state licensure or certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
DEA
Preferred Qualifications
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) clinical experience
Prior cardiology experience
