Job description

Physician Assistant (PA) Or Nurse Practitioner (NP) For Endocrinology Team

Essen Health Care is the largest privately held, multispecialty medical group in New York, providing high-quality, compassionate care to some of the state's most vulnerable and underserved residents.

Founded in 1999, we've grown from a single primary care office into a network of 50+ locations offering urgent care, primary care and specialty services, from women's health to endocrinology and psychiatry. We also provide nursing home support, care management, and in-home care through our Essen House Calls program. Guided by a Population Health model, our team of 500+ providers deliver care in-person, at home, or via telehealth, ensuring patients get the support they need when and where they need it.

We're looking for talented, motivated individuals to join our growing team. Whether you're a medical provider, administrator, or operations professional, there's a career here for you. Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our endocrinology team. This advanced practice provider will assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of endocrine disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and metabolic syndromes. The role is primarily outpatient-based, with potential involvement in inpatient consultations.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams focused on endocrine-related conditions.

Evaluate and manage patients with diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, gestational), thyroid dysfunction, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and other metabolic diseases.

Adjust and initiate medications including insulin and hormone therapies under collaborative protocols.

Interpret laboratory values, radiologic studies, and other diagnostic tests relevant to endocrine pathology.

Provide in-depth patient education on disease processes, medication regimens, lifestyle modification, and self-management techniques (e.g., glucose monitoring, CGM, insulin pumps).

Collaborate with endocrinologists and other team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Document all clinical findings, treatment plans, and follow-ups in the EMR in a timely and accurate manner.

Monitor patient progress and respond to abnormal labs, follow-up concerns, and medication refills.

Participate in patient care coordination, quality initiatives, and population health efforts.

Qualifications

Education: PA: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree.

DEA license and state prescriptive authority.

BLS certification (ACLS preferred).

Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in endocrinology or internal medicine strongly preferred.

Experience with diabetes technology (CGMs, insulin pumps) is highly desirable.

Salary: $135,000-$150,000 (May include bonuses and incentives)
