Job Summary

Our Orthopedic Walk-in Clinic is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - we are open to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants - to support our team onsite Monday through Friday. The clinic hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, so the weekly schedule will consist of 5, 8-hour shifts. We are open to flexible scheduling options - 24 hours, 32 hours, or 40 hours per week.

This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously as the sole APP at our Hatfield Clinic while also functioning as part of the larger Orthopedic team and collaborating with providers and staff across our Amherst location. The clinic provides urgent, same-day access for patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries, offering comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and care coordination, including surgical follow-up when indicated. Onsite radiology services allow for timely assessment and treatment during the patient visit.

The successful candidate will be comfortable independently evaluating and managing both adult and pediatric orthopedic patients, exercising strong clinical judgment, and providing high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Our APPs diagnose and treat a variety of acute orthopedic injuries and conditions, including:

Sprains and strains

Sports-related injuries

Foot, ankle, knee, and hip injuries

Hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder injuries

Fractures and dislocations

In addition to these injuries, the candidate must be comfortable:

Evaluating and treating pediatric patients

Ordering and interpreting radiographs

Administering therapeutic and diagnostic injections

Performing fracture and dislocation reductions

Applying splints and casts

Determining appropriate follow-up care and referrals for surgical management when indicated
