Job Overview
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit healthcare networks, is seeking a per‑diem Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA) to join the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute’s Cardiac Surgery Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. This role is ideal for self‑starters and offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, well‑established group with a robust staff.
Responsibilities
Provide pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care in the 24‑bed Critical Care unit for cardiac surgery patients.
Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, other NP/PA clinicians, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
Perform procedures including, but not limited to, central line placements and arterial line insertions.
Initiate appropriate interventions and orders, and request diagnostic tests as needed.
Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members.
Utilize critical‑care experience to support patient recovery and safety.
Qualifications
Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
NP or PA certification and New Jersey license required.
DEA and CDS certifications required.
ACLS and BLS certifications required.
Minimum of 2–3 years of Critical Care or Cardiology experience.
Excellent communication and computer skills.
Strong work ethic and teamwork ability; capable of working independently.
