This is a 142-bed full-service hospital offering a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics, and women's services. The facility is part of a growing 9-hospital, physician-led academic healthcare system serving more than 1.4 million people across 29 eastern North Carolina counties, and features a 16-bed emergency department with strong system support and resources.

Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide patient care in a 16-bed Emergency Department
Majority of patients are adults with ESI 3-5 conditions, with intermittent pediatric patients ESI 4 & 5
Minor procedures include I&D, laceration repairs, and minor fracture care
Schedule includes three 12-hour clinical shifts and one 4-hour admin shift per week
Clinical shifts are 7a-7p or 5p-5a
No call required
Average patient volume is 2 patients per hour depending on acuity
Opportunities exist to pick up shifts at a nearby 974-bed Level I trauma center with a 56-bed emergency department
ALCS and PALS certifications required
