THIS IS A 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITIONnThe Physician shall perform medical histories, physical examinations, as well as review required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories.
nDuties and Responsibilities:
nnConduct medical histories and physical examinations.
nReview of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories
nSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
nAssess applicant medical documentation and render their medical opinion on an applicant’s medical fitness for programs applying for
nApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.
nBecome proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.
nProvide highest regard to applicant dignity.
nAbide by and follow IAW, Privacy Act and HIPPA
nParticipate in MEPS local, medical peer reviews.
nUse Philosophy Known as “Red Carpet Treatment”
nComply with all installation policies and procedures.
nAccess and update electronic medical documentation,
nAccess and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues.
nEffectively communicate with all parties and other providers
nOther duties as assigned
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnMedical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) of the American Medical Association (AMA) or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) accredited or evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
nCompleted an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency
nPossess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
nMinimum of one (1) year post graduate experience within the last two (2) years
nPossess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session.
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nnPossess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation, access and respond to e-mail communications, and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues. This includes keyboard data entry of all medical record entries, consults and applicant medical processing
nAbility to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers
nAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skills
nPossess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity
nAbility to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentation
nExperience in collecting, organizing, recording and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires
nKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine and mental health
