nNurse Practitioner, Sevierville Urgent Care

nFull Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Variable Shifts

nPosition Summary:

nProvides primary care to patients under the supervision of a physician preceptor, following established medical protocols.

nResponsibilities

nnnMaintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.

n

nnProvides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

n

nnCollaborates with physician preceptor to formulate and review medical protocols.

n

nnObtains complete medical history of the patient.

n

nnIdentifies health hazards in the patient's environment as well as patient risk factors. Identifies and considers the cultural patterns, economic status, and patient resources in plan of care.

n

nnPerforms appropriate physical exam as indicated.

n

nnObtains appropriate laboratory specimens.

n

nnAnalyzes objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

n

nnAssures treatment and/or plan of care is consistent with established protocols.

n

nnMonitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records and maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Documents all pertinent information accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.

n

nnFollows Medicare guidelines for accuracy in CPT and ICD coding.

n

nnApplies the fundamentals of AIDET when communicating with patients.

n

nnRefers patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the practitioner.

n

nnProvide health promotion counseling and develop patient teaching information.

n

nnServes as a resource person for other staff personnel. May supervise clinical staff.

n

nnMaintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

n

nnCollaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team-based approach to overall patient care.

n

nnAttends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.

n

nnFollows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

nnPerforms other duties as assigned or requested.

n nQualifications

nMinimum Education:

nNone specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

nMinimum Experience:

nNone. 2 years Urgent Care Experience strongly preferred.

nLicensure Requirement:

nMust meet the State's requirements as a Nurse Practitioner. CPR required. Must have and maintain one of the applicable certifications based on specialty area assigned as outlined below:
