nEndoscopy Nurse Practitioner Position Summary:
nThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care to patients undergoing Endoscopy and Pain Management procedures. Working collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, nursing, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, the NP supports the safe and efficient management of patients throughout the procedural continuum, including pre-procedure assessment, preparation, coordination of care, post-procedure evaluation, patient education, and follow-up.
nThe NP promotes timely patient progression, clinical quality, patient safety, and continuity of care while practicing in accordance with New York State regulations, organizational policies, medical staff bylaws, credentialing requirements, and the individual's approved scope of practice.
nEndoscopy NP Responsibilities:
nnnCoordinates the initiation of a patient-focused team in providing direct and collaborative health care
n
nnPerforms physical examination and comprehensive patient assessment on pre-surgical patients
n
nnCollects and collages all pertinent patient information related to diagnosis and demographics
n
nnInitiates patient on the designated clinical pathway
n
nnEnsures that all tests, therapies and treatments associated with the pathway are begun
n
nnDemonstrates care that reflects an understanding of individual cultural and religious diversities and needs, and recognition of patient rights
n
nnCollaborates with Gastroenterologists, Pain Management Physicians, Anesthesiologists, Nursing Leadership, Registered Nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
n
n nEndoscopy NP Qualifications and Experience:
nnnGraduate of an accredited school of nursing. Graduate of an accredited program for Certified Nurse Practitioner
n
nnCurrent licensure by N.Y.S. Dept. of Education to practice as RN and NP. Master's Degree and Certification required
n
nnFamily Nurse Practitioner preferred
n
nnCurrent New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
n
nnCurrent national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
n
nnCurrent BLS certification required
n
nnACLS certification required
n
nnStrong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
n
nnKnowledge of peri-procedural patient management and procedural safety
n
nnAbility to recognize clinical conditions requiring escalation or additional evaluation before a procedure
n
nnKnowledge of anticoagulation and other medication considerations associated with invasive procedures
n
nnEffective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
n
nnStrong patient and family education skills
n
nnAbility to prioritize and coordinate care in a high-volume procedural environment
n
nnCommitment to patient safety, quality improvement, patient experience, and evidence-based practice
n
nnPrevious Nurse Practitioner experience in a procedural, perioperative, gastroenterology, pain management, anesthesia, acute care, or related specialty preferred
n
nnExperience caring for patients undergoing moderate sedation or anesthesia-supported procedures preferred
n
nnDemonstrated knowledge of pre-procedure assessment, medication management, patient education, and post-procedure care preferred
n
n nSalary Range
nUSD $74.14 - USD $83.88 /Hr.
nThis range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
