GENERAL SUMMARY: Promotes and maintains health of patients by providing medical services under the supervision of the physician in charge of the practice. Deliver primary medical care to patients. Maintain accurate and current patient records and scheduling and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform initial patient screenings and patient history and physician examinations.
Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment.
Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options.
Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation' enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Develops health care team staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experience growth opportunities.
Mainly inpatient; possibly outpatient
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Health promotion and maintenance, thoroughness, clinical skills, informing others, medical teamwork, physiological knowledge, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, pain management, self-development. Ability to work within a team and take direction.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree in Nursing and 5 years or more of nursing experience. Valid Nurse Practitioner license.
OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
Computer knowledge, charting software, some filing and organizing of patient charts, documenting patient history. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
