Job description
Nurse Tech IIProvides quality patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, following physician orders and individualized care plans. Delivers nursing interventions, assists with patient monitoring, and supports restorative or supportive care using the nursing process while maintaining a safe, compassionate environment.Minimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN nursing programCompleted second semester and currently in or completed third, fourth, and/or fifth semester of programAbility to read, write, and understand verbal and written communicationBLS certification requiredPreferred QualificationsPrevious healthcare or clinical experience preferredExperience in direct patient care settings preferredEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide patient care by collecting, monitoring, and reporting patient informationAssist RN/LPN with advanced patient care activities as appropriate for skill levelPromote patient engagement by considering individual needs, values, and preferencesReport changes in patient condition and ensure continuity of careDemonstrate infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE useRecognize safety risks such as falls, skin breakdown, and injury and report to RN/LPNParticipate in department performance improvement activitiesMaintain confidentiality of protected health informationCollaborate effectively with healthcare team membersDemonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and reliabilityAccept assignments and assist team members as neededSupport a safe and compassionate environment for patients and familiesPerform additional duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periodsFrequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneelingLift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devicesExposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materialsManual dexterity for patient care tasks and equipment useAdequate vision, hearing, and communication abilitiesAll candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
