Patient Safety AssistantThis recruitment is open until filled. Bartlett Regional Hospital is looking for a Patient Safety Assistant to join our Nursing Administration team! Pay Information: Internal Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Rules or Union Contract Terms. External Hires: This position starts at $21.59 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay are determined based on relevant experience. Job Summary: The Patient Safety Assistant (PSA) provides continuous monitoring of patients who are confused, disoriented, or at risk of self-harm, ensuring their safety under the direction of nursing leadership. The role includes both in-person and virtual observation, requiring constant attention and effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff. The Observer promptly reports any changes in patient condition while maintaining appropriate coverage at all times. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to document accurately to support safe, coordinated patient care.Minimum Qualifications for the position:Education: High School diploma or equivalentExperience: None Preferred Experience: Healthcare or patient care experience preferredLicense(s) Required: NoneCertification(s) Required: TEAM and BLS within three (3) months of hireOther Requirement(s): Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; candidates for whom English is a second language (ESL) must successfully pass an English proficiency assessment.Practice Notice: All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to the start of employment.
