Job TitleJob DescriptionCorewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity!About this unitThis 31-bed unit is dedicated to Oncology and Med-Surg overflow. This unit schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies, and cardiac catheterization. It also specializes in surgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. The nurse patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity. This unit also covers the 8-bed infusion center, which is also included on the 3rd floor.About Farmington Hills HospitalRecognized by U.S News and World Report as one of the nation's high-performing facilities for multiple procedures and conditions and has been recognized as a Magnet-designed hospital for nursing excellence. It also serves as the base teaching hospital for Michigan State University.Scope of workProvides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalentPrevious hospital or nursing home experience preferredAmerican Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support requiredCurrent CNA certification preferredAbility to communicate effectively and document information accurately.Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.Basic computer knowledge is preferred.Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.Ability to demonstrate Corewell customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance
