UNC Health REX Cardiac Procedural/ Cardiac Medicine Intermediate Care UnitJoin more than 56,000 teammates working to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve across North Carolina.This position qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program which includes a $5,000 Commitment Incentive paid over a two (2) year commitment.Provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic or home health care setting. All work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.The UNC Health REX Cardiac Procedural/ Cardiac Medicine Intermediate Care Unit is located on the 8th floor of the Heart and Vascular Hospital. This 24-bed unit provides intermediate level care to patients with cardiac conditions and multiple complex co-morbidities. This includes patients that have undergone pre-post cardiac and vascular interventions, heart attacks, r/o heart attacks, heart failure, and dysrhythmias needing treatment or monitoring, and medical patients with a strong cardiac history. The staff on this unit serve adult and geriatric patients. Specialized technicians observe patient rhythms in the Telemetry Command Center providing support to the team and continual surveillance for rhythm changes.Responsibilities include assisting physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations, aiding patients in reality orientation, observing and documenting patient information, providing assistance to patients and their families during admission and discharge, providing care/treatments to patients, providing direct personal care to patients, providing indirect care to patients and assigned area, reinforcing routine teaching given to patients, and distributing patient education materials.Education Requirements: None required as long as all other position requirements are met.
